Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at Cisco, you will be an integral part of our team, focusing on the development and enhancement of Layer 2 switching protocols. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing, developing, and debugging software in C and C++ for networking devices.
Implementing and optimizing Layer 2 protocols to ensure high performance and reliability.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine system requirements.
Participating in code reviews, providing feedback, and ensuring best practices are followed.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
Hands on Engineer/leader who can work along with senior folks contributing to Architecture, design and development of platform development cycle
· In depth understanding of Packet Forwarding/TCAM concepts/Quality of Service
· Development experience in one or more areas of CAM/TCAM/Congestion Management/Shaping/Policing
· Development experience in one or more areas of Packet Forwarding/TCAM concepts/NAT, Sflow,Policy Based Routing
· Development experience on implementation of Software and Hardware provisioning for Protocols – DHCP, VLAN, Control plane policing, Access-Control-list, Shapers, Policers
Exposure to different Buffer, TCAM architectures and allocations.
· Exposure to standards – 802.3x, 802.1qbb, Ipv4, Ipv6, GRE, Tunnel protocols
· Development experience in Chassis management
· Excellent debugging skills and rich experience using various hardware, memory debugging tools
· Develop innovative solutions to revolutionize for the next generation data center.
· B.E/B.Tech/ME/Mtech/MS from reputed university
· 5+ years of experience in Networking/Data center/Datacom development
· Good understanding on L2 Protocols and L3 Protocols
· Working experience in merchant silicon
· Proficient in using IXIA/Spirent
