About the Role

As a Technical Support Engineer at Microsoft, you will play a pivotal role in providing top-notch technical solutions to customers worldwide. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction at every step.

Responsibilities

  • Response and Resolution: You own, investigate and solve customer technical issues, collaborating within and across teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
  • Readiness: You lead or participate in building communities with peer delivery roles and, where appropriate, share your knowledge.
  • You develop specific technical and professional proficiency to enable you to resolve customer issues, through training and readiness.
  • Product/Process Improvement: You identify potential product defects and escalate appropriately to resolve, contributing to Microsoft product improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 1+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
  • OR 3+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience.
  • OR equivalent experience

Experience

โ€ข 2+ years prior product/technical support customer facing experience.
โ€ข Technical experience and knowledge working in Azure technical support or equivalent technology.
โ€ข Technical skills and hands on experience in 2 or more of the following areas: Active Directory, ADFS, SSO configuration, Azure Identity protection, Identity Management, O365 Identity, Azure MFA.
โ€ข Experience supporting large and complex geographically distributed enterprise environments with 1000+ users


Experience in one or more of these areas desirable
โ€ข Windows System Administration, Certificates, PKI, DNS, Networking, Virtualization, PowerShell scripting.
โ€ข OS Internals concepts, load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN and VPN technologies.
โ€ขStrong Experience in Active Directory Services (including ADS, Group Policies, FSMO Roles, DNS Zones, Replications etc.)
โ€ขExposure to cloud technologies like Azure (Identity management) and ADFS.
โ€ขAzure / Azure Active Directory hands on and troubleshooting experience.
โ€ขAzure 533 certification preferred.
โ€ขAADConnect, O365 and Exchange Online technologies knowledge preferred.
โ€ขKnowledge of PKI and Authentication protocols.
โ€ขExperience and understanding of ADFS.
โ€ขComfortable with PowerShell scripting and commands.
โ€ข3+ years of experience in administering Microsoftยฎ Windows 2008 and Windows 2012 Servers.
โ€ขGood English Communication Skills โ€“ Spoken and Written (including technical writing)
โ€ขStrong Trouble Shooting and problem solving skills
โ€ขExcellent customer Service skills and effective learning skills Critical Exposure areas & Technical Specifications:
โ€ขTrouble shooting and problem solving skills.
โ€ขGood Active Directory foundation and fundamentals.
