About the Role
As a Linux & VMware Admin at Genpact, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Linux and VMware environments. This role is crucial to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure, which supports critical business operations.
Responsibilities
- Planning and executing regular scheduled outages following ITIL framework principles using ServiceNow.
- Installing, managing, and maintaining virtual systems on VMware ESXi hosts, along with vCSA/vCenter management.
- Proficiency in designing and deploying new services within data centers.
- Expertise in ESXi installation, configuration, and upkeep. Experience with Windows server installation and configuration hardening.
- Competent in managing compliance for Windows, virtual, and Linux systems.
- Familiarity with MSA-DAS, disk enclosure storage, and SAN switches.
- Installation and configuration of RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu operating systems
- Managing and maintaining hardware, conducting regular server and storage check-ups.
- Installing and administering MATLAB enterprise applications
- Configuring core server builds and hardening servers.
- Automating deployment and hardening operating systems (Windows, Ubuntu, RHEL)
- Managing ILO/remote administration and operations on HPE rack servers
- Installing and configuring Docker and Python applications in Linux environments.
- Familiarity with NetApp and Dell EMC storage solutions.
- Management of Tape Backup Infrastructure for Servers and Storage
- Remote management of offsite/onsite tape movement
- Manage and maintenance H/W, Regular check-up of Servers and Storage
- Planning and implementation of outage on regular intervals.
- Create change requests for product defects and attend change meetings.
- Decommission process of retired server and storage.
- Understanding requirement of customer and propose solution.
- Collaborate and integrate with different teams to build Datacenter infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

- Commitment to quality results.
- Experience in Monitoring tools.
- Ability to work in a professional manner, be flexible, and handle interactions with all levels of the organization and with external clients.
- Self-directed, organized, and motivated.
