Responsibilities
- Manage, support, and maintain Linux installed systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures.
- Work with team members to design and implement new solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups and updates.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Install, upgrade, migrate and maintain Linux based systems.
- Ensure security of systems and data
- Manage system backups, restore, and recovery.
- Manage and maintain printers and scanners.
- Manage user accounts, groups, and services.
- Manage and maintain storage.
- Work with users to resolve account/system issues.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Good years of experience administering Linux (OEL) (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration, updates, and patches)
- Experienced in understanding and remediating security threats.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Very good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role. In-depth requirement understanding skills with good analytical and problem-solving ability, interpersonal efficiency, and positive attitude.
- Knowledge with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Knowledge with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Certifications in Linux and/or VMWare
